I worked closely with audiology staff and clinicians to create a child-friendly leaflet and set of simple characters designed to help children understand what to expect from their hearing appointment. While the service already delivered excellent care, the aim was to make the experience feel calmer, clearer and more reassuring for young patients. Through collaboration with staff and insight into common worries and questions, I developed a small cast of expressive characters and gentle, straightforward messaging that supports children emotionally as well as practically. The characters are intentionally simple and flexible, helping to normalise feelings, explain the journey in a friendly way and create a more welcoming experience for children and families.
